YSL TOUCHE ÉCLAT VS. CHANEL ÉCLAT LUMIÈRE

Hi everyone!!!

I've decided to do a "competition" between products that belong to the same make-up category, today the lucky chosen category is: under eye concealers/highlighters!!
I must confess I'm addicted to them, I don't ever leave the house without popping some on, it gives an instant lift to the whole face, looking less tired and immediately fresher, but enough with the blabber...

First up is: YSL TOUCHE ECLAT

I must say this product has a lovely texture, but not quite the right coverage for my taste. Even though the colour range isn't quite wide I wasn't really impressed, the shades are either too light or too dark or too peachy for my skin tone, I purchased shade number 2 luminous ivory, that really matches me only on days when I'm particularly pale.

I would not like to say bad things about this product because I so love the packaging and the texture, but it didn’t last very long on my skin (I have oily to combination skin), I had to reapply it after every 4 hours or so. I like the fact that you get quite a bit of product in the pen, I’ve been using it daily for the last 3 months (yes I’m particularly pale thanks to my acne medications that don’t allow me to go in the sun ! ) and it's still going strong, so I big thumb up for that!

Second up is : CHANEL ÉCLAT LUMIÈRE

I love this little miracle-maker!! Even if it only comes in three shades I’m a perfect match with the n.20, the texture is slightly thicker than the YSL one, so it has a bit more coverage  (amazing!!) and is still very easy to blend and pat into the skin. It lasts all day and I don’t need to reapply it! The only down side is that it finishes really quickly, I have to repurchase every 5/6 weeks.

I tested them both on bare skin because I rarely wear foundation so, that said… my pick is CHANEL ÉCLAT LUMIÈRE with a because it has a bit more coverage and matches my skintone better, while YSL TOUCHE ECLAT comes in second maily for the colour range and secondly because I feel like this is more on the "illuminating" side and less on the correcting/concealing side, but I think it would work wonders if you use a corrector like the Bobbi Brown one underneath.

I hope this was helpful!!

Anna
