Red nailpolishes

Red nail polishes are such a classic, and around this time of the year I love to rock this look! Here are three nail polishes that I particularly enjoyed using this month:

1. Dior Red Royalty

2. Chanel Rouge Noir

3. Helena Rubinstein Violet Fusion (I layer 1 coat over the Dior nail plish)

Here is how they look on...(excuse the poor application!!)

from left to right :Dior, Chanel, HR
Which colours did you wear throughout  December? Are you enjoying layering some particular polishes? I’d love to know!

Christmassy mugs!

I’ve been wanting to do a post about these mugs for a very long time! My boyfriend bought them for me to “get me in a Christmassy mood” beginning of December, and I love them!

These mugs are from PPD, and amazing brand for porcelain goods, and I really suggest checking out their website here!

hope you like them as much as I do!

I love it, it's very practical and warmer than what I had expected it, the whool she chose is very soft and not itch at all! She took couple of evenings to do it, i'd say 4-6 hours! (amazing, I would not be able to di anything like that)!
Let me know what you think! what's you trend for this winter in terms of hats headbands & co?
Hope you'll have a fabtastic week-end!

A bit of skincare

Finishing up products we own is a general good thing in my opinion because we can then really realize if we've loved the product we used or not really, and I call that the repurchase test! So here are some repurchases and some new buys!

1: Avene intolerant skin recovery cream, amazing!! I've discovered it when I was 17 and always repurchase! I use it when my skin feels dry or particularly red, it's really calming and reduces the redness. It's a water based moisturizer without oils, which is exactly what I need for my skin!
Then I finished the clinique mousse to wash the face, and I found it too drying especially now that's cold and windy, so I bought Ideka idrating face wash (2), it's actually an italian brand and I'm not sure id they sell it abroad, but aniways this product is fantastic! Has totally rebalances my skin, even though it does not claim to have any rebalancing properties.
3: Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish I've been using it for the past year and I've gone through many bottles already! I use it at night as a make-up remover and I really enjoy that , it's supposed to be used with a muslin cloth and it gets rid of any tiny bit of make up!!
4: another repurchase, Clinique anti blemish solutions moisturiser, love love love the consistancy, texture and effectivness of this product.
5: since I've finished my chanel highlighting pen, I felt the need of a cheaper option so I decided to try clinique airbrush concealer, we'll see how that will work! (I'll do a proper post in a couple of weeks)
6: Sampleeeee!! I love samples! This is an age decelerating night cream from clinique and I think it's just what girls in the eraly/mid twenties need and should be using if they felt the need to prevent any wrincle to appear too soon!

hope you're having a great day!

CHANEL and more...

When times are tough, like these past few day have been, especially for Italy, I ask myself what can I do to help the economy...and the answer is : just shop! (I'm kidding!) but anyways as I was out the other day with my mom we ended up buying a few amazing makeup items and I immediately wanted to share!

First we got a foundation for my mom, Chanel Tient Innocence compact foundation, she didn't want a liquid one because she's always on the go so she preferres something easy to carry around and do touch ups during the day. I think this foundation suits mature ladies skin type very well because it has just the right amount of coverage and at the same time is dewy and illuminates the whole complexion. ( I am a fan myself of Tient Innocence but the liquid version!)

Then we got a Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick, in the colour 38, and it is is amazing! Really long lasting, comfortable on the lips, very pigmented....just fantastic!

Then (it was actually the highlight of my day) as we were waiting in line at a pharmacy to buy a bottle of out usual Avene make up remover, I spot the very top shelf the last bottle of Bioderma H2O Sensibio makeup remover!! (which seems to be the best and most gentle one on earth, loved by some of my favourite YouTube makeup gurus like Lisa Eldridge, the Pixiwoo sisters and Tanya Burr).

So since I very much trust their opinion I immediately bought it and I've got to say it actually is super gentle and non irritating!

Well this post seems to be long enough already...so I hope you're had a great week and are ready for an awesome weekend! :)

weak nails? no more

If you, like me, suffer from weak nail that chip and break and peal and split , you don't have to worry anymore! There's a quick and very effective solution! (that isn't even too expensive)
The answer to our hope is the Trind system!!

The way it works is by combining a nail balm, a cuticle balm, and a nail repair polish that actually makes the nail harder and stronger. As they say on their web site: "Trind products make the nail stronger, without disturbing the balance between protein molecules and nail moisture. Our products are effective because they are based on the natural consistency of the nail." And I can guarantee it's true!!

The way you're supposed to use it is: apply first the cuticle balm and push them down if you need, then use the nail balm and let it absorb for a couple of minutes, after that apply the nail repair just like a normal polish. For the first 10/15 days, you need to repeat the treatment daily, after that period of time your nails are already visibly stronger. In order to maintain the result you just need to reapply every week or week and a half.
Plus I find it and amazing base coat too! I've been using this system for the past three years and it has never let e down!

ps: remove the nail polish with a non acetone nail polish remover!

hope it was helpful!

Autumn leaves

When autumn finally comes, and the sun sets every day earlier I get in the mood of decorating the house to make it more autumnal... here is one of my latest creations, I think it's perfect for thanksgiving as well!

I think it looks really good and it's really easy, all you need to do is go for a walk and pick up as many brunches as you need and then get creative and put them in a vase, and it's done! (sorry about the bad lighting in the pic!)

First tinted moisturizer

As I mentioned in one of y previous blogposts, I'm not a "foundation type of girl", I don't like how it feels on the skin throw ought the day, and having acne I prefer to let y skin breath more.
For me foundation is like a special treat on a special night out, something to make me feel fabulous...but the other day I was just so pale that I needed something to make me look a bit more "alive", if you know what I mean!

The lady at my trusted beauty shop suggested the Estee Lauder Daywear plus Multi protection anti-oxidant sheer tint release formula (I dare you say it all in one breath ;) ) with SPF 15.
I very much like this product, it comes out a bit grey-ish, and as you rub it in the skin the colour starts coming out, and leaves the skin looking enlived and slightly dewy, which I really like.
It also claims to "help prevent lines and wrinkles with a powerful new blend of encapsulated antioxidant, UVA/UVB protection and intensive hydration".

What more could I ask from my very first tinted moisturizer? Once it's on it absorbs quickly and does look just like your skin but better, and that I find fantastic! It has not broken me out or anything like that, but (for precision's sake) I've been using it on and off on days when I need it, so I don't know what would happen if I wore it every single day.

Over all it's another beautiful product from a very trustworthy brand that I've come to know and love!

Have a good night!

3.Nars Blush, $36 I've never had one and I keep on hearing amazing things about these blushes!
4.Bobbi Brown Concealer Kit -Beige/Pale Yellow, $32 I'm in the mood for trying something new to my highlighting pens as under eye concealing...
5.CHANEL LE VERNIS NAIL COLOUR | Nordstrom, $25 how amazing is this nailpolish!?! needless to say, I can't wait to have it!

Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Eyes Mascara

As you may know from my previous blog posts, I adore Lancôme Hypnôse Drama mascara, so when I saw that Lancôme was launching a new Hypnôse mascara I could not wait to buy it as see for my self how it would look on!
Well, it's safe to say I'm disappointed!Aside the fact that I love the packaging, I don't know if it's just me applying it wrong but it does not curve my lashes at all, and has no lasting power! After just a few hours it's all around my eyes, making me look like a panda (not in a good way!). On the other hand though, the wand is actually really nicely shaped and I must sat it's amazing for getting easily all the bottom lashes, and it does lengthen.
Though, if I had to chose between Hypnôse Doll Eyes and  Hypnôse Drama I would have no doubt and go for the second one, it lasts longer and gives the lashes a fuller more curved and more volumized effect!
Here is how it looks on me:

hope this was helpful! let me know what you think of this mascara if you've recently purchased it! xoxo

Avène Soothing Eye Contour Cream

If you've been on the lookout for an eye cream that is not anti-aging (I don't feel like I need it yet being only 21) but that is really moisturizing you should give this one a try!
I don’t normally use under eye creams, but lately my skin around the eye are has been feeling really dry and much thinner than usual, so I decided it was about time I started taking care of that part of my face as well.
So I popped into the pharmacy and the lovely lady there suggested this soothing and moisturizing cream that suits young people's skin needs better than an anti-aging one.

I've been using it for the past week and I've already seen a significant difference in how the skin looks and feels to the touch, not so thin anymore and way more smooth too! Plus a little tiny bit really goes a long way, it doesn't feel greasy at all and absorbs quickly! what more could you ask for!?!

here comes clear skin!

School/ College/University is back, and so am I, and I could not be more excited about a this post! After a lifetime and a fortune spent in dermatologist treatment (including laser therapy) and tons of creams I found something that literally made my skin visibly clearer in a matter of days: Clinique anti-blemish solution 3 step system.
The way this system works is through cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing.

Step 1: Acne Solutions Cleansing Foam ,
Great for  removing dirt and excess oil that builds up during the day and clogs pores, it leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean and soft (not tight at all)
Step 2: Clarifying Lotion ,
is basically a medicated (salicylic acid) toner that exfoliates the skin, and contains oil absorbing powders to control shine. I love this toner, it tingles a bit but you can see right away how much brighter the skin looks after applying it.
Step 3: Clearing Moisturizer
This moisturizer contains Benzoyl Peroxide, that is very well known to be very effective against acne and breakouts. I love the smell of this moisturizer and the fact that has kind of a dewy finish.

Some days I might feel the need of some extra moisture, so I’ll put my Avenè moisturizer on after the third step.

Overall I adore these 3 products and I’m so happy I found them, so I won’t have to take Accutain during winter as I was supposed to, and enjoy my clear skin!

Perricone MD cleansing treatment bar

Like I said before I've a bit of a problem with acne and after that acne marks! so the other week I bought a glycolic acid bar soap which costed a fortune to fade my acne marks and my mom's pigmentation spot (since it was so expensive mind as well use it for more purposes! ) .
After only a week my mom's skin is so much better, it's unbelievable, whereas mine hasn't improved so much, but it surely did some good! I can see improvements especially around my chin area!
The way I use it is just like a regular soap, but for extra quick result you can let it sit for a couple of minutes and then rinse away with warm water. The whole complexion looks more healthy and glowy!!
I say if you suffer from pigmentation/marks left from spots, or just dull skin it's worth a try!

Porselli

Well well well, after hearing all of my friend saying amazing things about these flats, and nerever fully listening to them, the other day my eye was caught by these shoes!
The colour range is fantastic, but I fell in love with these bright pink ones, and I've got to say after a couple of days of wearing them they aare pretty cofy too.
On the not so bright side, I've got to say they're already ruined on the back! :(

Hope you like them! xoxo
